No. The Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate Program is designed to provide knowledge for conducting fraud-related interviews and demonstrate this skill to employers. It does not replace the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential, which requires meeting eligibility requirements and passing the rigorous CFE Exam. Completing an ACFE certificate program does not count toward meeting CFE eligibility requirements.

How many exams do I need to pass for the Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate?

You must pass three separate exams, one for each required course in the program: (1) Getting Past No: How to Get Reluctant Interviewees to Share Information, (2) Interviewing Witnesses and Suspects, and (3) Written Statement Analysis. Each exam requires a passing score of 70% or higher, and you have three attempts per exam.

How long do I have to complete the Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate Program?

You have one year from your purchase date to complete all three courses and pass their corresponding exams. After one year, access expires. If you have not completed the program within one year, you can re-enroll by contacting ACFE Member Services and paying a $125 Certificate Program Re-Enrollment Fee for an additional year.

Does the Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate expire or require maintenance?

No. Unlike the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credential which has continuing professional education (CPE) maintenance requirements, the Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate does not expire and does not require any ongoing maintenance. Once earned, you have it for life.

Successfully completing all three courses provides 8 NASBA-approved CPE credits in the field of Communications and Marketing. Course 1 provides 2 CPE credits (and fulfills the annual ethics CPE requirement for CFEs), Course 2 provides 4 CPE credits, and Course 3 provides 2 CPE credits.

What happens if I fail an exam in the Fraud-Related Interviewing Certificate Program?
